Reality r2 - is a full tube summing mixer,with active  inputs, 3U rack, which is designed for work with Pro Tools or other DAW systems. Mixer can be performed in various configurations at the request of customer. It also concerns XLR/TRS, or XLR+TRS connections.                     Presented configuration contains 6 Stereo Inputs, 4 transformer balanced Mono Inputs, transformer balanced Main Outputs and Aux Outputs, Phones Output. Stereo Inputs and Outputs has separate L/R  level knob.                                                                              

In a mixer of the presented configuration installed  double triodes, military pass tubes 6N28B-B (USSR standard), with the purpose of device size reduction  also. But not the unique factor which has influenced a choice such tubes.These military tubes with high reliability and outstanding linear sound characteristics have it - possess high resolution and low noise level. Tubes is soldering  to PCB directly and as these tubes have long (20mm) wires, there is no transfer of heat to a place of the PCB contacts. Therefore  problems with bad contact are excluded (for this reason such tubes were used in the military gear - including, in aviation technics, for example). Also it is necessary to tell, that these tubes have long service of life and by special trainings (before installation in a mixer) this term increases.

Therefore, at a choice tubes for a given mixer has been made for the benefit of such tubes. Of course, there is an opportunity, to manufacture a mixer on usual tubes, for example, well checked up and manched pair - dual triodes 6N3P (full analog of 6CC42/5670/6385/2C51 tubes) in the first cascades and dual triodes 6N23P (full analog of ECC88/ E88CC/6D8J/CCa/6922 tubes) in second.

The signal path is pure tube. All tube cascades are pure Class A with no feedbacks and cathode followers.There are no electrolytic capacitors - only high quality film capacitors. Electrolytic capacitors are only used in the power chain. The high quality passive components - such as WIMA, Siemens, Neutrik - are used throughout. All audio chains are built with high-quality shielded oxygen-free wire.

In order to minimize power net hum  the mixer power circuit uses good filtered plate voltage and the filament uses stabilized  DC current from outboard separte 2U rack PSU.

new developments...                                              We have developed an others modifications of mixer with 8-16 unbalanced passive inputs also. Each channel has Pan and Level knob. It allows to use mixer channels more effectively, sending mono signal from DAW and use of Pan knob on the mixer instead of sending panned stereo signal from DAW to summing mixer, thus occupying  two precious channels already. Such concept of a mixer seems to us more reasonable and convenient. Output cascades of a mixer contain the above-stated set of tubes, balanced transformer outputs (or dual balanced transformer outputs on order), dualmode output stage (pure A class or AB cascode driver). Main output level of mixer is controlled  by stereo Output Level knob,or separate A/B knobs,on order.                                       Such design appeared rather practical in some cases, and satisfying need for many cases, in fact the true task of a good mixer is  to mix signals from DAW correctly, which in turn has rather high output level and does not demand additioanl amplification. In fact passive circuitry shortens signal path, that favorably affects on sounding. It is well-known to owners Ampeg MX35, for example which is successfully used by set of studios to this day.

Mixers,how very complex device and with  a lot of  configurations variants  can be manufactured under the order only. Manufacturing of the device will occupies time during ~1,5 months. Please ask about desirable cofigurations. Any reasonable configurations  can be manufactured.
